Roborock's Saros Rover: The Stair-Climbing, Leg-Articulating Robot Vacuum of the Future
Okay, so I've been playing with robot vacuums for ages, and there's always that one nagging question: "When are these things gonna tackle the stairs?" Guess what? The future is (sort of) here! At CES 2026, Roborock unveiled the Saros Rover, and it's not your grandma's Roomba.
This isn't just another disc bumping around your living room. The Saros Rover has articulated legs with wheels – yeah, you read that right. It can actually climb a full staircase, cleaning each step along the way. I saw it in action at CES, and honestly, it was wild.
The way those legs move is almost mesmerizing. Think frog-like, but super smooth and controlled. It can lift each leg independently, do little hops, and change direction on a dime. It's way more agile than any other robot vacuum I've ever seen. Roborock is really pushing the boundaries here.
