Opera's Neon Browser: A Triple Dose of AI, But Is It Too Much?
Trying to wrap my head around Opera's Neon browser, I quickly realized it's not your typical browser with just an AI assistant slapped on. Instead, it's like having three different AI bots living together under one roof. This is both a blessing and a curse.
On one hand, you don't have to jump between different apps to get your AI tasks done. Everything is right there. However, the downside is figuring out which AI to use for what. It can get pretty confusing. I think that more than just add all the trending features to a product, is important to take care of the UX, which does not seem to be the focus here.
Recently, Opera started allowing more people to try out its AI browser, Neon. The market is getting crowded, with everyone from Google (with Gemini in Chrome) to Perplexity (Comet) and The Browser Company (Dia) jumping in. What sets Opera apart, though, is its multi-AI approach. This is bold, but it could use a bit of streamlining.
