Okay, so listen to this: two guys who used to work in cybersecurity, one of them even a ransomware negotiator, just admitted they were behind a bunch of ransomware attacks last year. Can you believe it? It's like a cop robbing a bank. The Department of Justice is all over this, announcing that Ryan Goldberg, 40, and Kevin Martin, 36, pleaded guilty. Apparently, they squeezed a medical device company for $1.2 million in Bitcoin. Ouch.

These guys, along with another unnamed person, were officially charged back in October. The way they did it was pretty nasty – using ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware to lock up and steal data. It seems like something out of a movie, doesn't it?

It's wild to think about the level of trust we put in these cybersecurity firms. You hire them to protect you, not to shake you down for digital cash! It really makes you wonder who you can trust these days. I mean, if the very people who are supposed to be guarding the digital gates are the ones breaking in, what hope do the rest of us have?
