DJI's New Mic 3: Smaller Size, More Features, and Upgraded Storage
DJI is at it again, shrinking down its tech without sacrificing key features! The new DJI Mic 3 is a testament to that, packing a serious punch in a much smaller package. It's about half the size and weight of the Mic 2, which is great news for anyone who values portability.
What's really cool is that they've crammed in some new capabilities. We're talking about adaptive gain control modes to prevent audio clipping, voice tone presets to fine-tune your sound, and a massive upgrade in storage for internal recordings. It can support multiple transmitters and receivers simultaneously, which is perfect for recording groups.
And the tech is impressive too. It intelligently switches between 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies to maintain a stable signal. Plus, it's got two levels of active noise cancelling, which is super useful for getting clean audio in noisy environments. I've used similar features on other mics, and it really makes a difference.
The adaptive gain control has an automatic option that stops sudden volume spikes, and a dynamic mode that adjusts the gain automatically in quieter settings. The voice tone presets (Regular, Rich, and Bright) are also a nice touch, especially for those who want to quickly optimize their audio.
Despite its small size, the Mic 3 doesn't skimp on the essentials. It keeps features like built-in backup recording and a touchscreen display. It also boasts 32GB of storage, which is a significant jump from the Mic 2. Regarding battery life, the receiver lasts up to eight hours, and the transmitter can run for ten. The charging case provides an additional 28 hours of power, ensuring you're covered for extended recording sessions.
One thing we don't know yet is the price and when it will be released. Also, DJI mentioned that the Mic 3 won't be available in the US right away. Let's wait and see what the price will be when it arrives in the US.
